More invites!
In case you missed it, Gmail has decided to give us all one more invite, just in case there's anyone left on earth who doesn't have one of these guys. While it's still red (maroon), the location has moved to just below your labels bar (see picture).
Does anyone know when Gmail is finally going to come out of beta? And are they ever going to fix the crappy address book?

I dunno when they're planning to come out of beta, but I think they've been giving out invites periodically for quite a while. I keep getting a few, whenever I manage to use mine up, but I think I was somehow very early in the introducer hierarchy.
Personally, I would find it very fun if they came out of beta, but never gave up the invitation system. It would make tracking the bad apples an oddly socially-related event. Perhaps they won't need to when the system goes totally live, but are running an experiment on us now to figure out how to calibrate their "bad user detector" as it is, with a little bit of "correctly labeled data" in the set from the invite system.
